25 days is all I got…

Sing the title to the tune of 26 letters, if you don’t know the song…oh well. 25 DAYS! (and then summer school, but I’m not going to worry about that right now.) I don’t even know what state I will be in to teach summer school. I spent the better part of today visiting schools, talking with principals, and being put off by secretaries. The superintendent of the school I want to be at has an excellent secretary. Mr. Super controls all hiring. Principals can make suggestions, but his is the ultimate decision. I have yet to speak to him, can’t get past his secretary. IMO, the best principals let you have a minute of their time and wrap up the conversation as quickly as possible. That way everyone is happy. A principal should not be unapproachable. The best principal today was at a county school in the middle of nowhere. There wasn’t anyone at the desk when I came in, but instead of passing me by, he asked if he could help. He then invited me to have a seat in his office and then talked for a minute. It was obvious when my time was up, but he was very polite. The worst was a guy who I did get to meet with, but it was obvious I was not welcome to be there more than a moment because he had much better things to do with his time. I feel like I got a lot done today, at least making a few contacts.

Now time for AI- wow Phil Stacey has certainly found his niche.
