Bedtime
Why is it that every night is a battle. Every night we start the routine for bed and end up having to force the little darlings into bed! Between 6:30 and 7:00 we try to have them start the bathing process. By 8:00 they are instructed to get in the bed and read. By 8:45 we are ready to brighten their bottoms. Bedtime is 8:30. Not too much to ask that you be in the bed and ready for lights out by 8:30! Children are such creative procrastinators.
Side note…any thoughts on dances at the 5th/6th grade level? I’m just not overly comfortable with the idea.

I’m not a mom, so my opinion must be taken with that grain of salt…but I wouldn’t be wild on dances for 5th or 6th graders - that seems too young to me. The first one we had when I went to school was the 8th grade dinner dance…held in the early evening, before the sun went down.

No idea on dances here, we don’t have them in Germany.
We had Carnival parties though

My daugher would never sleep if she could get away with it–as for dances for 5th graders–no way, she’ll be in the fifth grade next year!

I’m not too keen either…
Nicole, Carnival party sounds fun!
Annie, kids or not kids, the general answer of most asked: too young. I can remember an 8th grade banquet, but no dance until high school.
