Spring Break is here!
I am so glad to FINALLY have spring break. For years I complained about having spring break in early March. I must admit, I was wrong. Granted I would rather have it at the end of March or the first week in April. However, if I have to choose I choose early March. Waiting until mid April has been painful. I understand the purpose but we needed a break! I think it cuts down on behavior issues when you have periodic breaks. You know, I’ve been wrong about a lot of things this year.
I was so excited about moving back to this area. It is beautiful. With poor leadership it is a dying area with little motivation to improve. It could be so much. I love the university here. I love the downtown and the historic district. The river is beautiful. I love the limestone walls and shimmering water. The rest, I will not miss.
I just hope everything happens as it should and the move is smooth. We will know more after this week. For now, I am going to relax and recover from a difficult few work weeks.

Aw, have a good recovery and I hope all goes well and the way you wish for.
I don’t understand why areas just can’t get themselves together and better themselves again.
I guess greed plays a big role once again. The ones that could change something are just in it for the bucks and the end result, well…..

I don’t know what the deal is. Fear? You would think if it was greed they would push for better industry and keep business here. It is such an amazing area that has great potential. I’m not talking Dubai development but it would be nice to see some direction!

It seems to be a problem in many places.
No direction, no plans & they blame it on no money, no industry.
A cat that bites it’s own tail.
Sort of.

Enjoy your break. Northern Alabama is beautiful; however, I don’t know much about the economy there. Two years ago I spent a week in Birmingham and enjoyed it-found great places to eat and spent a day visiting the Civil Rights sites.

Thanks Sage, Bham is great. They have their own set of problems and political issues, just like everyone else I guess. People here are just afraid to move forward. Some of it is based on “moral” issues and some of it is just plain stubborn. They want to market the area as a retirement community which does nothing for the roughly 70000 citizens already living in the quad-cities, most of which are not retirees. The RTJ Golf Trail and historical significance of the area can only bring in so much business.
