I love music meme
The meme queen, Tense Teacher, posted a fun meme that she borrowed from Adena. I too love a good music meme so here’s a good thirty minutes of amusement for me. I wish you luck. My musical tastes are rather diverse.
The rules are as follows:
1. Put your mp3 player or computer music player on random.
2. Post the first four lines from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song (Skip repeat artists and any instrumentals.).
3. Post, and let your friends guess which song and artist the lines come from.
4. No Googling! Don’t cheat!
1. Christopher Robin and I walked along
Under branches lit up by the moon
Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappeared all too soon
WTG Djembe, (Return to) House at Pooh Corner- Kenny Loggins
2. I need you boo
I gotta see you boo
And there’s hearts all over the world tonight
Said there’s hearts all over the world tonight
With you (Boo)- Chris Brown, guessed by Leesepea!
3. New Orleans ladies
Sassy style that will drive you crazy
And they hold you like the light
Hugs the wick while this candle’s burning
Jem again, New Orleans Ladies- Louisiana’s LaRoux
4. I can’t get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications
Very close Jem, it is Overkill, but it is not the original of Men At Work. It is Colin Hay’s Man At Work version
Can’t tell from the lyrics of course.
5. You’re all smiles and silly conversation
As if this sunny day came just for you
You twist your hair, you smile, and you turn your eyes away
C’mon, tell me what’s right with you
6. Its late in the evening
Shes wondering what clothes to wear
She puts on her make up
And brushes her long blonde hair
Wonderful Tonight- Eric Clapton, guessed by Leesepea!
7. I never knew there’d come a day
When I’d be sayin to you
Don’t let this good love slip away
Now that we know that its true
Don’t, Don’t you know the kind of man I am
No, said I’d never fall in love again
But its real
And the feeling comes shinin thru
Jem again, Caught Up In You- .38 Special
8. There’s no gravity up here
It’s kind of hard to explain
Every time I’m holding you
It’s like backwards rain, yeah
9. It is so easy to see
Dysfunction between you and me
We must free up these tired souls
Before the sadness kills us both
10. I’ve these dreams of
Walking home
Home where it used to be
And everything is
As it was
Frozen in front of me
11. Who’s to say
What’s impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
12. Way back when
In Sixty-seven
I was the dandy
Of Gamma Chi
Sweet things from Boston
So young and willing
Moved down to Scarsdale
Where the hell am I
I swear I didn’t give him the answers, Jem again. Hey Nineteen- Steely Dan
13. We flying first class
Up in the sky
Poppin.. champagne
Livin.. my life
C’grats to Tense for getting Glamorous by Fergie
14. Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don’t need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.
Tense again with Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Ray
15. Can this feeling that we have together
Oooh, Suddenly exist between
Did this meeting of our minds together
Oooh, Happen just today, somewhere
16. You could say I lost my faith in science and progress
You could say I lost my belief in the holy church
You could say I lost my sense of direction
You could say all of this and worse
WTG Leesepea! If I Ever Lose My Faith In You- Sting!
17. I can’t tell the future but I don’t care
‘Cause as I learn to trust you, it’s enough that You’re there
Enough that You’re there
You’ve given me the faith to live through today
So you can have tomorrow, You can have the next day
You can have the day after, the day after that, Jesus
Jem, music master’s last guess…After This Day is Gone-Bryan Duncan
18. You thought we’d be fine
all these years gone by
now your askin me to listen
well then tell me bout everything
no lies we’re loosin time
19. Here we stand
World’s apart, hearts broken in two
Sleepless nights
Losing ground
I’m reaching for you
20. (This one is too good to just give four lines)
My heart is restless as I wander through this jungle
The trees above refuse to let the sunlight through
And somewhere deep inside I hear the whispered longings
That tell me I was made for more than this
A blinding flash of light falls down into the darkness
Slowly I notice strange new markings on the trail
The crimson drops are calling out to me come and follow
“I am the God who made you, let Me show you how to live”
And I cry…

and that’s why you are the music master
Since you recently met .38 Special and performed with Bryan Duncan you should be able to recognize those. There’s one you didn’t get and I am shocked! LOL. Actually a couple or three. Maybe you are just being nice and giving others a chance. Yeah…that’s it, I’m sure…

Stuff like this makes me feel really old. I haven’t got an MP3 player, and not even my daughter uses one, though she’s got a bunch of music on her PSP. I don’t know if that counts.
I do have Sirius Satellite Radio, which is one of the coolest things you can get, IMHO.
