It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas
Finally we drop out of the upper 60s (and even lower 70s) and into the chill of 22°. Cold, it’s the way Christmas should be. Shopping is done, and the menu is set for Christmas dinner. It will be just us, and that is fine. We stopped traveling on Christmas years ago. It is so much easier to stay at home and let the kids enjoy their new toys. Despite the smaller Christmas that we vowed to pursue I think the girls will be happy with the spoils presented to them.
There are other things that still need to be done. Laundry being one. The garage another. I lack motivation to begin either task. It seems that every “vacation” is spent catching up on cleaning. The house isn’t too terrible, but the garage. Ew. It’s in desperate need. There are cookies to bake and decorate. That I can get into. Several small presents need wrapping. I need to find a few small boxes so that it isn’t obvious what the gifts are. Maybe if I clean the garage first then I will find the Christmas box/bag stash.
Jem has chili on and it is smelling pretty good. Mmmm, the perfect meal when there is a chill in the air. We’d better enjoy it now because the temp will be steadily going up for the rest of the week. I always hope to not be able to wear shorts on Christmas day.

I think it got down to 15 here Sunday night. Brrrr! And yeah, I’m like you, please let it be at least a bit chilly. Someone should really write a new Christmas song, “I’m dreaming of a long-sleeved Christmas.”
