Back to normal
After much agony clicking and searching I have gotten my blog almost back to normal. Only 938 posts without a category or tag. You do not realize how much your spot on the web means to you until it is needing resuscitation. I’m not sure if I have added all of the links that I had before. I figure I have added my regular reads and will add more as I go. I’ve been thinking of ways to prevent blog destruction in the future and I think my first step will be to create a subdomain and import all of my blog posts to it.
One more day and life will be back to normal as well. School starts Monday. I love New School, but I would love to stay home a little more. January and February are going to be very busy months. Competition prep will consume months 1 and 2, AP prep will consume 3 and 4. Month 5 will be state testing, and then we’re out. Not much time when you look at it like that.
I hope everyone has gotten 2009 started off right. Happy New Year to all and may 2009 bring blessings to your home.

I still hate that your database was completely lost
Try installing this plugin:

This will give you a full backup of your WP database for in the future should something happen. I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you about this before. Using that you can get a backup of your WP database.
The plugin looks like it can even schedule a weekly backup and email it to you.
Also, you may want to contact 1and1 and see if they can restore a database backup for you, or email you the DB backup. It’s only been a few days, so there’s an excellent change they can restore one for you.

Up until I started playing around with everything yesterday I had no idea how to use the db backup file. Now I know…and knowing is half the battle. I got just about everything I needed.

I still have 3 years of copy / paste ahead of me. Old blog posts from WP and pics from my picture site going to my blog.
