Life simplified

How do you simplify your life?  I often say that I am not getting something right if I am continually exhausted and continually dedicating a large majority of my time to work.  Family suffers.  Work suffers. Mind suffers. Body suffers.  How do you balance?  Personally, I believe I need to step back and evaluate.

Best of Luck in doing so!

I’m terrible at this – and I suffer from self-inflicted over-working. However. Not to say it can’t be done.

When I’m in the best place for this, it’s when I make everything an appointment for myself. I lay out what needs to get done (including “me” time), and then schedule it all out.

    Today?

    7-8am – gym
    8 – 9am – eat breakfast, shower, start laundry
    9 – 12 – schoolwork
    12 – 1 – lunch and goof off time
1-3 Lesson plans for tomorrow/work on teaching things
    3 – 3:30 – laundry stuff, whatever else misc.
    3:30 – 6:30 – Schoolwork
    7 -9 – Watch 24
9 – 10 – Wrap up loose ends for tomorrow

(even the 2 schoolwork blocks have specific things in them to accomplish).

Anal? Yes. But. It’s the only way I stay sane and make sure I’m not doing too much.

Do I do this every day? Hahaha. Yeah right. But the days I do it, it helps me out so much.

List and intensive planning is about the only way to retain sanity.

  • That’s a tough one! Good luck!
