I have been extremely sick. Short story here b/c my computer battery is running low and I’m about to take more meds and go back to sleep. Possible spider bite on my cheek bone and I didn’t want it to get bad bad. Had something similar before and it was awful. Got early morning doc appt and he gave me a shot of Rocephin (sp?) and Rx for strong topical antibiotic and oral Septra. Taught the rest of the day and was fine. Took Septra at 6, by 7:30 I felt very flu like. I didn’t think much of it. By 9 I was thinking it could be reaction to Septra. Jem came home early b/c the body aches were really getting to me. Went to bed, up ALL night. Could not get comfortable, everything hurt. I’m talking crying kind of pain. Started vomiting around 2. Lost the little dinner I had eaten. Thinking back I may have been getting sick at that point, before the Septra, b/c I wasn’t hungry at dinner. (I helped Lil Bit make pizza rolls using crescent roll dough. FYI tomato sauce burns coming back up.) The next three times there was nothing to come up except the Septra and ibuprofen. Went back to doc at 7. He thought reaction too. Gave me phenegren (sp?) and made me drink water to see if I could keep it down. I didn’t want IV and we were trying to prevent more shots since both hips were taken and my skin was hurting. Didn’t get better. Lower back pain was excruciating by mid day. Took a couple of baths and that eased it a little. The headache was REAL bad. Was going to go back to doc, but insurance will only pay for one doc visit a day. Went to ER. Still crying from pain. They got me back w/o too much wait. Doc didn’t think reaction to Septra b/c no rash, which is the norm. Ran various tests, good. Gave me an IV with saline, then more phenegren, and morphine. I was able to rest pain free. They kept giving me saline to keep BP up and rehydrate. (I had been drinking gatorade and water all day, but not tons.) BP got down to 87/45. I usually run 90-something or 100/ 70.

Thursday morning I am feeling better, but the headache is there and so is the lower back pain. Took meds and back to bed. ER doc thought it could be a virus that hit about the same time as my system was already weak. Flu test came back negative. Other tests look good, but could be corrupted by earlier antibiotics. Either way, pain Thursday was a 4-5 and Wed night a solid 10 with lots of tears.

Today is much better. I am pain limited and no meds to control it. Coughing has started and there is a little chest tightness. Hopefully on the mend. Whatever this is, I don’t want it again.
