Iron Bowl ‘09

Hours of stress filled excitement and a great game to watch. Auburn vs. Alabama was certainly not the UA blowout that was predicted. In fact, AU was up 14 by the second quarter. UA rallied and tied up the game, but AU was able to advance their lead yet again. Meebo chatters on AL.com were calling AU’s playing a gimmick and nothing but tricks. I think they were embarrassed. This was supposed to be an easy in. As UA struggled to obtain the lead chatters were calling foul and proclaiming that refs were paid off by AU. Really?
I only saw one individual with a Tide box and toilet paper taped to his head, but then I wasn’t at the game and the media didn’t pan the crowd often enough to see more. Yeah, that’s hot. It was a heated game with emotions running high. There were personal fouls called, and some not that probably should have been, but over all I think it was a well played game on both sides. I have to commend my husband as well. In all the years I have known him he has never rubbed an Auburn win into anyone’s face. He shows true class. That is so much more than I can say for some. They simply seem to drop the ‘cl’ and show it. Some of the things I read on AL.com chat were offensive.

I saw part of the game at the gym and figured that you were going to be real happy and now I wonder if Bone is going to comment on the game. He may have been there.

Bone’s a good guy and he is welcome to comment. I’ve just been seriously irritated at some who are malicious in their statements.

Eh, I’m not a big trash-talker. Winning is enough for me. And that includes resisting the urge to text one of my Auburn friends who never fails to text me to brag any year that they win. She’s been oddly silent the past two years
It was an exciting game. And by exciting, I mean, aged me twelve years. Of course, most of them do.

It was a fabulous game. I hate it for the team that they got that close – but really, for 58 minutes they lead the #2 team – I don’t think anyone expected them do that. I’m proud of them.

We had one of those morons sitting near us.
