An hour extra

Not into blogging lately. Still reading everything that comes through my reader, but not feeling those personal creative juices flowing.

Bogged down in school and life. Going through the roles of wife and mother, losing myself. I’m not sure where October went and September is a blur. School is school. It is difficult for me to put my frustrations into a frame of reference. In the back of my mind I know the situation is better than it was when I taught in traditional. In my situation I am frustrated. It’s a little like the monkeys are running the zoo. I value the opinions of students but I don’t think they are the end all to how I should be teaching my class. I’ve been working at this teaching thing longer than they have been alive.

Does it matter?

What does?

With an hour extra to sleep this morning I bounce out of bed at 7:30. Why? I don’t know, it’s what I do. The girls seem to have had a good Halloween night. I’m so not into it, but I will not take the fun of dressing up and trick-or-treating away from them. I have a friend who is totally into it and hosted a party for all the neighborhood kids. I sent my girls to her neighborhood. One year I sent the girls off to a church hay ride with our sitter and then went Christmas shopping. GREAT time to go because the stores are not crowded.

Sitting on my computer this morning I am trying to open Firefox. Didn’t work. Crash. Crash. Crash. Ugh. I uninstalled and then got a wild hair to try G()()gle Chrome. Not overly impressed and will go back to FF. The only other browser I have ever gotten excited about is Flock. It’s a little much for me, but its capabilities are pretty cool. You have everything just a click away and so much can be done in browser. With my simplistic tendencies of late, I thought G()()gle Chrome would be ideal. The fact is, I’m not interested in learning the ins and outs of something new. I know the shortcuts and addons in FF, and I like them. There is also something attractive about the open source community nature of FF. G()()gle Chrome is just Google’s attempt to reenact episodes of Pinky and the Brain. G()()gle, like W@l@rt, wants to take over the world. I’m hooked on their search engine, but that’s it.

It’s time for something new.
