If I have to take another PRAXIS test to be licensed in NC I’m going to be violently ill. Please pray for reciprocity. To get a license in NC you have to take Social Studies Content Knowledge and Social Studies Pedagogy. I would do fine on the World and US content knowledge. I would do well on government and pretty good on geography. Economics…oh not so good. The only reason I did OK on it when I took this test was because I had just taught the subject. That was in 1999 and I haven’t touched it since. My economics instruction stops at supply/demand and inflation. In all of my Soc.Sci. education I have had 3 economics courses…two were histories masking as economics. Please, please, please no take again. Why would I need to take if I have already taken it? The pedagogy scoring would be subjective…I think. I do not want to bank on a test with subjective scoring so I would want to boost my content knowledge score. I just reviewed the licensure app and it looks like I just MIGHT not have to take the tests since I am HQ in AL.
And since I’m begging for prayer support…I have my eye on a cool charter school that would be perfect for my girls and it would be totally cool to get to work there. So like could you totally pray for it? LOL, long day and my head is full of allergy issues. Lovely. Pray that goes away too.
God, I really need calm nerves and peace about this transition.

I care not what others think of what I do, but I care very much about what I think of what I do! That is character!
Theodore Roosevelt
Does it matter what people think? People are going to think what they want whether you like it or not so I really don’t think that it does. On the other hand, some think what they do is cute, witty, amusing, or cool when it is far from it. Using the argument that it only matters what I think of myself really doesn’t work. Sometimes there is a fine line between self-confidence and idiocy. That is not to say that self-confidence is not important, it is. Self image is also important. Another situation where balance is essential.
IMO it is more important to be happy with yourself than to worry about what others think, but I don’t think that gives anyone permission to act without regard for others.

A cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not.
Ernest Hemingway
This is Alli. She attempts to hide herself, but doesn’t do a good job. However, you always know exactly how she feels. She makes it abundantly clear that she does not wish to be touched, picked up, chased, or messed with…unless she needs food and then she will tolerate mild displays of affection.

“I would rather be poor in a cottage full of books than a king without the desire to read”
Here is a thinkexist.com quote for today. I have not had the pleasure over the last couple of years to read for the sheer enjoyment of reading. But, like this quote I would rather be poor with books than a king without the desire to read. I equate that with no desire for learning. I love to learn. If I could afford it I would be a full time student. There are so many interesting things out there! Books open the door to adventure. Books open the door to knowledge which can make our lives better. At least poor with books you have the opportunity to improve your plight in life, you have the opportunity to seek happiness. Books let us dream and ease the stress of everyday life. Books can show us ways to live better. Books can be an escape from reality. Books can be a gateway to the past or a dream for the future, even a warning for the future. Books can be power. Look how many books have been banned and burned from the shelves of libraries. Look what lasts…the classics. Why are they classics? Will the modern classics still be around after hundreds of years? Some will. What will books of the late 20th and 21st centuries tell those in the future about our life? Books are generally written from the time period in which we live. Will it reveal positives or negatives of our society. Accurate? Makes you wonder and question the accuracy of our historical assumptions.
Which would you choose? Poor with books or king and no desire?
