Sepia Scenes

Beach tones- sepia

Photobucket

It’s Wednesday again! Time for the sepia scenes meme. I have been planning to use these beach scenes for a few weeks now, and now seems like a good time. Soon I will be making my first trip to the beaches of NC. I’m looking forward to it, but I review pictures of our last beach trip and pray for Gulf recovery. It will be a long time before the gulf beaches will be uncontaminated and habitats again viable. Such a sad situation that could have been prevented by greater responsibility. *sigh*

On a more beautiful note, I offer pier pics from Panama City Beach. Taken in color and manipulated using Picasa.

In honor of the Fourth I offer the following for my second sepia scenes contribution.

PhotobucketThe Washington Monument, taken in April 2010 and manipulated to sepia using Picasa.

PhotobucketSoldier’s Sacrifice, also taken in April 2010 and manipulated to sepia using Picasa. This is one of my favorite memorials in DC.

PhotobucketThis photo was taken on a December 2007 trip to DC. It was on this trip that I was able to stand in line for hours and have the honor of viewing the lying in state of President Ford. (Blog post about it here.) The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is always a moving experience, but I was truly touched by the single rose placed in memory of a loved one.

This rose was also placed, but I did not like it when manipulated to sepia.
